Double Double

Today, Double will be neutered. I dropped him off at the vet 6:30AM in the morning and walked away sadly with his desperate wails sailing through my ear canals.

Double was fed...shrimp and eggs, pork chop, lamb and vegetables and his usual vitamin diet.....for dinner. Last night, all the family members in Houston expressed blessings in their own ways before going to bed.

Mom: Double, God be with you ok?
Anna: Double, everything will be all right.
Mike: Want my left over biscuits?

Helen: Do not worry Double. I talked to the vet yesterday. I made sure that she will give you lots of pain meds. I'm buying a lot more after your surgery. "wink"

Something to be proud of...

Lately, there haven't been a lot of things to be proud of in the worldwide Asian community, especially in China. I'm really disappointed in the melamine incident. Even the Olympics was a disappointment because of the government forcing people from their homes to build a new stadium...high rise buildings for the rich...to show off to the world that they can build high rises too? (It's been done.)

However, I did read something today that made me proud of the "old" days in China.

--In the 1930s, Shanghai was the only place in the world to offer visa-free sanctuary to Jews fleeing Nazism — 20,000 ended up in Shanghai.

We need to learn from history.

Eco-Arsonist??? Oxymoron or just a Omoron?

Marie Mason, a 47-yr old environmental activist, was sentenced to nearly 22 years in prison on Thursday for a 1999 arson attack at Michigan State University's Agriculture Hall that caused more than $1 million in damage. She was acting on behalf of the Earth Liberation Front, a radical environmental group. She sets fire to stuff, lots of stuff... We are not talking about burning trash here. Combustion produced CO2... I'm pretty sure CO2 is a greenhouse gas... Did she not just harm the environment by releasing CO2??

Things like this really pisses me off... It's like people don't think! It's like the frenetic PETA person that started killing hunters... Are humans not animals?

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Introducing Double Chen

His uncle Ken took pictures of him while he was exercising with his dad.

Sad Beginning: Double Chen was found under Matt Brittain's truck in Victoria Texas. Matt and his family took him in for two weeks and did all they could to locate his previous owner. They were not able to locate them.

Thumbs Up from Sunny: Sunny loves all animals...even evil cat Kiki Chen.

Thumbs Up from Helen: I wasn't sure that I wanted a dog at first since ... they are like kids... you have to feed him and stuff. I was "persuaded" into a try-out for a weekend. After getting to know the little fellow better, Sunny and I decided to adopt him. He's already been house-trained and doesn't make much noise...a great lap dog.

About Double: He loves falling asleep in our laps watching TV. His favorite food is Pirate's Booty (aged white cheddar corn puffs) and HEB rotisserie (the original) chicken. His favorite shirt is his Burberry polo a Christmas present from his parents. His BFF is Brady, doggy son of Vanhdy and Jenny. His pet peeves are...unmanned children at Christmas parties that scream bloody murder all throughout dinner while their parents listen..(oh wait that's MINE).

Tricks: sit, fetch, stand, shake, lay down
Tricks we are working on: nipping unmanned naughty little children's heels and roll over

Expectations from his Parents:
Sunny: just be happy, pee and poo at the right times
Helen: be the smartest dog alive
