How young do you look?
Last night a random fisherman rang our doorbell to try and sell us some fresh live shrimp. Helen went and opened the door and he asked, "Is your mom home?".

Memorial Weekend
It all started Friday night, as soon as everyone got here at 11pm we hit the gym and played vball, bball, and football til 2am. After a few games of assassin, we got the only night of real sleep only cause it was raining really hard and crabbing was cancelled in the morning. Around noon on Sat. it stopped raining and we took off to go fishing at the pier. Nothing but catfish and small croakers. After a light lunch we took off to Port O'Conner to try our luck fishing there. Different place, same results. At least there was more variety in our catches. Of course, CK manages to catch the ugliest and nastiest looking fish ever (toadfish). I'll have to post the picture later, but it looks like a pile of poo. Back at the house, the girls have already started preparing for the BBQ.
BBQ was crazy, we had Ken, our grill master outside grilling, and the girls in the kitchen preparing all sorts of food. All in all we had enough food to feed all 15 of us plus around 10 of Helen's co-workers +wives + their kiddos. In fact, there was so much leftovers that we didnt have to eat out the whole weekend. The co-workers little kids are another story, I think their shrieks gave me a semi headache. Cory and Gina brought over their Alaskan huskie, Mylie. She looks just the dogs in the movie, 8 Below. I think Helen wants one now. After a short rest Jason went and picked up a bunch of dodgeballs at Walmart. I have to admit after watching the movie a few years ago, I've been itching to play. I lasted only a few rounds before my shin splints got the worst of me. I sat out and watched them finish a best of 7 game series. It came down the the wire, very exciting. Lots of OOOOOs and AHHHHHHs and yelling and screaming. By the way, how in the world is Kin so good? Why is he so good? He must have been secretly practicing at IBM in Austin with his coworkers. After dodgeball some of us went back out to fish while others stayed at home.
Sunday we woke up bright and early and headed out crabbing. Crabs were plentiful and Jing finally caught some quality fishes. Two redfishes!! too bad they were too small to keep. Duffy didnt get hurt this time and CK didnt lose any chicken necks. He did catch a large green moldly crab which no one dared to eat. Lunch consists of last night's bbq and sausages and crabs. Douglass and Kelly did the dishes afterwards and I went to sleep. By the time I woke up Helen and Kelly already finished watching a movie and everyone was almost done playing poker. Dinner we managed to finished off the bbq from yesterday, then headed out to the gym again for some vball. When we got there it started pouring again, good thing the gym is indoors. CK took a nasty fall, which didnt help out his messed up toe nail. I did give him some tylenol for it, but it turns out it was 3 years expired, heh. It's still effective though! After vball, everyone left for Htown except Vanhdy and Jenny.
Ken, Kin, Jason, Annie, Helen, Jenny, Vanhdy, Cary and I finish the night fishing at Port O'conner till 6 in the morn. Nothing but freaking catfish, pigfish and small croakers. Next up, DEEP SEA FISHING!!!! Anyone up for it?
PS> Anyone happen to find a set of Honda Keys? It has a big pink heart attached to it. It seems to be missing. Also Duffy's black Astro's hat is missing as well. It wasn't in the gym.

OUR FRIDGE HAS WHEELS!!!
So, thanks to Homedepot's inferior customer and delivery service, we had to move our refridgerator into our house...manually. So, a few good men enlisted to do the job. They were: JASON, KEN, HARBERT, SUNNY, and CARY. The ones that showed up on time to move the fridge were...Sunny, Harbert, and Cary.
It was hard work. We had to take off the fridge doors in order to fit it through the front door. We didn't have a dolly that could support the weight of the fridge. So, we left it on a piece of cardboard and slid it to the front door from the garage. Then ramped it up to the door. THEN slid it into the kitchen. Cary got stuck in the mud on the side of the sidewalk a few times. His slippers were sacrificed. ALL IN ALL IT WAS JUST PLAIN HARD.
AFTER DOING ALL THAT... we realized that...the fridge had wheels. ALSO. That was when Jason and Ken walked in and asked "Do u guys need help?"

Russia
Anna and I in Red Square, Moscow
My cubby hole on the train back from Novgorod to Moscow
Helen waiting for the train to Novgorod from Moscow
Training Center in Ramenskoye
I'm really thankful that the Lord gave me the honor of participating in the gospel trip in Russia this January. GMR 2007 went out to 50 Russian cities to preach the gospel. My assigned city was Novgorod (only 9 hrs by train), and my sister rode a 37 hr train ride to Krugan, Siberria. Our day started at 6:00 in the morning and ended at 20:00. Sometimes we walked 6 hour days passing out tracts to the seminars, and some nights we knocked on 50-100 doors to preach the gospel. The militia came and kept tight watch over us "foreigners." I really wished that our food portion was larger... BUT praise the Lord, He taught me how to coordinate with other members in the Body, and I just felt like I've gained more of Him.
The Russian brothers and sisters were really awesome. They really took care of us. At one point, when our passports were taken up by the local militia, I remember praying about it and going to sleep thinking "The brothers will take care of it. God is with us!"
Out of the 2.5 weeks in Russia, I saw the sun twice. The second time was really significant to me because that day I woke up and I really didn't want to go out to preach the gospel in the cold. The night before...my local team were cursed at for being foreigners and for being Christians while we were door knocking. It got really bad because Katya, a dear Russian sister, stopped translating what was shouted. We met with alcoholics...drunks. That morning I woke up, and I felt really defeated. But during our truth study, the Lord reminded me to have faith in Him. Preaching the gospel is not easy. A lot of people won't like you. They won't accept you. But we must go on with Him. Then the sun came out. He is light that shines in darkness. My team went out to a nearby market area to preach the gospel. I was able to preach the gospel to two Russians, who prayed and accepted Christ. The Lord is faithful!
If I given the opportunity to go again...I would in a heart beat.

How Not to get PROMOTED in ONE NIGHT

Last Thursday, December 14th, was our departmental holiday party at the Tropics, a local seafood restaurant. Jason was Sunny's +1, and Cary was mine. Now, my boss bought a shot for me before dinner. He was looking red so WE offered him a ride home. I was like YES...+1 pt for me.
The next day... I was told that I forgot about him...and he didn't have a ride home. I mean...I didn't even remember the next day. I walked in the lab. Jeff looked at me and started laughing. I said, "why are you so happy? still drunk?" He said, "no but you are probably in trouble. mwhahahhaha" Jeff=evil I mean my boss had to call his wife to come pick him up.
I'm so sorry HongLan. Sunny, Jason, and Cary...man WHAT Happened? Why didn ya'll say something yo?
